Alzheimer’s

Watra Care takes customer health as a priority when it comes to home care. It is very important for us to provide a service that cater for anyone that suffers from cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease. We understand that people with this condition would prefer to stay in their own home for as long as possible, rather than having to move to a care home. We understand that this condition is a progressive one, and will require careful tentative care throughout the day.

Alzheimer’s disease is a common form of dementia affecting one in every three people over the age of 65. It is not a condition brought on by old age but rather caused by physical changes in the brain, and attacks the cognitive functions. There are various symptoms that are specific to this condition including:

  • Short and long term memory loss
  • Your behaviour and emotional responses can change
  • Affecting your speech and creating difficulties with your understanding
  • Bouts of mental strain and confusion
  • Mobility issues
  • Confidence loss
  • An increase in laziness

With the right care and support for people with Alzheimer’s disease, they can continue to maintain a healthy life at home without needing to move to a nursing home.
